Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in a cooking or food preparation role
  • Ability to follow food safety standards and procedures
  • Willingness to obtain food safety certification if not already certified
  • Basic math proficiency
  • Effective communication skills
  • Physical ability to perform job duties including lifting and standing for long periods
  • Commitment to maintain a clean and safe work environment

Job Qualifications

  • Experience as a cook or in a related culinary role
  • Validated knowledge of basic principles of food preparation, cooking methods, and food safety regulations including proper food handling, sanitation, and storage
  • Ability to acquire food safety certification
  • Basic math and counting skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to meet physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, extended walking and standing

Job Duties

  • Adapt the duties and responsibilities to meet varying client requirements and operational needs across Aramark locations
  • Follow production instructions and standardized recipes to prepare a diverse array of dishes
  • Ready the workstation with all required tools and ingredients
  • Prepare ingredients by measuring, weighing, blending, cutting, trimming, and peeling food items
  • Safely use various utensils, including knives
  • Handle appliances such as ovens, cookers, cutting machinery, mixers, and more
  • Use different cooking methods like baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming to prepare meats, vegetables, and other foods
  • Structure, enhance, and portion cuisine according to established regulations
  • Maintain quality and safety of food through proper storage methods in line with food safety policies
  • Maintain sanitary and germ-free environments in work areas, devices, and utensils
  • Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a cheerful and approachable demeanor
  • Comply with Aramark safety protocols, emphasizing accurate food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Uphold safety measures protecting organizational resources
