Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in a culinary or food preparation role
  • knowledge of food handling, sanitation, and storage best practices
  • excellent knife skills and kitchen appliance operation
  • ability to follow detailed recipes and production instructions
  • food safety certification or willingness to obtain
  • strong communication and teamwork skills
  • physical ability to perform manual tasks and stand for extended periods

Job Qualifications

  • experience as a cook or related role
  • knowledge of food preparation principles, varied cooking methods, and food safety regulations
  • ability to obtain food safety certification
  • basic math and counting skills
  • strong interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
  • ability to meet physical demands including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking and standing

Job Duties

  • adapting duties and responsibilities to meet client and operational needs
  • following production instructions and standardized recipes to prepare diverse dishes
  • readying workstation with required tools and ingredients
  • preparing ingredients by measuring, weighing, blending, cutting, trimming, and peeling
  • safely using utensils including knives
  • handling kitchen appliances such as ovens, cookers, cutting machinery, and mixers
  • employing cooking methods like baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming
  • structuring, enhancing, and portioning cuisine according to established regulations
  • maintaining food quality and safety through proper storage methods
  • ensuring a sanitary and germ-free environment in work areas, devices, and utensils
  • delivering excellent customer service with a cheerful and approachable demeanor
  • upholding Aramark safety protocols focused on food safety and sanitation
  • maintaining safety measures for organizational resources
