Job Description

Averitt Express is a respected regional carrier specializing in trucking and logistics services primarily across the South and Midwest regions of the United States. Operating with a strong commitment to driver satisfaction and support, Averitt offers an environment that prioritizes earning potential, driver safety, and home time, making it an ideal employer for CDL-A truck drivers seeking a balanced and rewarding career. The company is known for providing access to advanced equipment and comprehensive benefits, making it a leading choice for professional drivers aiming for career growth and financial stability in the transportation sector.

This role as a Regional CDL-A Truck Driver with Averitt Express is designed to offer drivers a structured yet flexible work environment. Drivers predominantly work a 5-day schedule, benefiting from competitive average weekly pay of $1,500 based on practical miles. In addition to base pay, drivers can earn extra compensation through various pay incentives such as stop pay, layover pay, breakdown pay, detention pay, and per diem allowances. There are no caps on referral bonuses, encouraging drivers to help grow the team. With 100% no-touch freight, drivers can expect an efficient and straightforward delivery process avoiding manual freight handling.

Averitt equips its drivers with modern tractors averaging just 2.4 years old, enhancing both safety and comfort on the road. The company maintains over 80 locations providing private parking, onsite fueling, truck washes, showers, and lounge areas, ensuring drivers have the resources they need both on and off the road. Averitt’s commitment to home time is evident, with 96% of drivers running 5-day schedules returning home by noon on Saturdays and enjoying 48-plus hours at home weekly, supporting work-life balance.

The comprehensive benefits package supports both drivers and their families with medical, dental, vision, hearing, and prescription coverage at affordable weekly rates. Paid holidays and paid time off are available soon after hiring, along with profit sharing deposited monthly into retirement accounts. The Red Thinkin' Rewards program allows drivers to earn valuable items such as tablets, laptops, TVs, and vacations. A rider policy accommodates legally married spouses, and policies like personal conveyance and uniform allowances add flexibility and professionalism for drivers.

Averitt provides paid orientation and ongoing training, backed by strong support from dispatch and leadership teams, giving drivers the tools and resources needed to succeed. Career advancement opportunities within the company are available, plus access to a scholarship program for associates and their dependents, emphasizing Averitt’s commitment to employee growth and education.

Overall, this Regional CDL-A Truck Driver role at Averitt Express offers drivers a rewarding, supportive, and growth-oriented career path.
