The company is dedicated to hiring the best truck drivers, who are some of the safest and most experienced on the road today. Heartland Express prides itself on maintaining high standards for safety, efficiency, and driver satisfaction, making it a preferred employer for professional truck drivers across the United States. Its regional CDL-A truck driving positions offer drivers the opportunity to earn a substantial income, ranging from $52,000 to $90,000 annually, with the average pay being approximately $57,000. Drivers benefit from weekly home time and quarterly safety bonuses that reward safe driving practices, alongside no-touch freight assignments that minimize physical labor. The company operates primarily with dry van freight, utilizing drop and hook methods to optimize delivery efficiency and reduce downtime for their drivers.
The Regional CDL-A Truck Driver role at Heartland Express is designed for experienced professionals who thrive in a fast-paced, safety-oriented environment. Concentrating on regional routes within a 48-state operating area, drivers have the chance to travel extensively while still returning home weekly, balancing the benefits of regional driving with the desirability of frequent home time. The company provides its drivers with late-model equipment, including Kenworth, Freightliner, and International tractors, which are maintained under warranty to maximize uptime and driver satisfaction. Heartland also supports its fleet with nationwide service shops, ensuring any maintenance or repairs are handled promptly and conveniently. The trucks operate at a regulated speed of 68 miles per hour, optimizing fuel efficiency and safety. Beyond the salary and operational advantages, Heartland offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid orientation and training, paid vacation, and health-related insurances such as medical, dental, vision, and life coverage. Additional perks include detention pay at $20 per hour, breakdown pay to support drivers during unexpected vehicle issues, and access to newly renovated terminal facilities equipped with amenities like free showers, laundry, and recreational options. Overall, this role is ideal for truck drivers who prioritize safety, professional growth, and a balanced work-life schedule while earning competitive pay and enjoying extensive support from a well-established company.
