The Region Human Resources Business Partner (RHRBP) role at Hydro is a permanent position with a competitive salary range of $165,000 to $230,000 annually. This senior HR leadership role is focused on leading human resource operations across multiple manufacturing sites, including unionized and non-unionized facilities in various states such as Arizona, Ohio, Florida, and Illinois. The role is critical in aligning HR strategies with business objectives to drive labor relations, workforce planning, compliance, talent management, organizational development, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The RHRBP supports and partners with plant HR teams, senior leadership, and general managers to enhance workforce productivity, engagement, and culture. Key responsibilities include overseeing union negotiations, grievance handling, and contract administration while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. The role also involves spearheading talent acquisition strategies, succession planning, and training programs to ensure the workforce meets production demands and aligns with Hydro's long-term goals.

Further, the RHRBP plays a strategic role in HR operational excellence by optimizing HR technology, managing budgets, driving employee engagement efforts, and spearheading organizational change initiatives. A substantial aspect of the position involves risk management through HR compliance audits and proactive policy guidance across multiple jurisdictions. With the necessity to travel up to 50% of the time, the ideal candidate must be adept at managing priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced manufacturing environment. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years HR experience in manufacturing or industrial setting
  • At least 2 years HR experience in unionized environment
  • Experience with labor relations and collective bargaining
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR compliance
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to analyze data and HR metrics
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%
  • Proficient in English language
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced settings

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of HR experience in manufacturing or industrial environment
  • At least 2 years experience in a unionized setting
  • Experience in collective bargaining, workforce planning, HR compliance and talent management
  • Certification in SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR, or Certified Labor Relations Professional (CLRP) preferred
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws such as NLRA, FLSA, OSHA, FMLA, ADA
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems like Success Factors, UKG/UltiPro and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to analyze HR metrics, identify trends and drive improvements
  • Expertise in conflict resolution, negotiation and communication
  • Strategic mindset focused on HR best practices and operational efficiency
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing settings
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach
  • Proficiency in English, additional languages a plus

Job Duties

  • Assist the VP of Human Resources in executing company’s HR vision and strategy
  • Lead HR initiatives across multiple manufacturing sites ensuring alignment with business goals
  • Partner with general managers, senior leadership, plant managers and HR teams to drive workforce planning, succession planning and organizational improvements
  • Lead and monitor HR KPIs to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Oversee union negotiations, grievance resolution and contract compliance at unionized plants
  • Develop and implement union-avoidance strategies at non-union sites
  • Lead workplace investigations, compliance audits and risk mitigation efforts
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state and local employment laws
  • Lead talent acquisition strategies aligning staffing with production demands
  • Guide succession planning and leadership development programs
  • Support development of local plant HR teams
  • Implement regional training and career development frameworks
  • Lead HR process improvement initiatives and standardize best practices
  • Align HR technology and systems with business needs
  • Manage HR budgets and resources
  • Drive employee engagement and culture-building initiatives
  • Function as change agent in organizational restructures and workforce transitions
  • Provide guidance on labor trends, legislation and HR best practices
  • Conduct HR compliance audits to mitigate risk
