The Maintenance Mechanic role at Wegmans is integral to ensuring that stores, facilities, and equipment are professionally maintained. Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- five or more years related work experience
- technical training through apprenticeship, RSES, trade school, or equivalent work experience
- EPA Universal Certification
- proficient with the use of a laptop computer
- ability to maintain, troubleshoot, and operate building management, on board control, and PLC-based control systems
- sound mechanical ability with welding and plumbing knowledge
- preferred supermarket or restaurant equipment experience
- ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical systems independently preferred
Job Qualifications
- Five or more years related work experience
- technical training through apprenticeship, RSES, trade school, or equivalent work experience
- EPA Universal Certification
- proficient with laptop computers and able to operate building management and PLC-based control systems
- sound mechanical ability with knowledge of welding and plumbing
- supermarket or restaurant related equipment experience preferred
- knowledge of applicable codes, regulations, and operating standards preferred
- independent ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical systems preferred
Job Duties
- Perform basic repairs and preventive maintenance on refrigeration and HVAC equipment
- identify and diagnose issues with refrigeration and HVAC control systems
- repair self-contained cases and rooftop HVAC units of all types
- demonstrate knowledge of secondary glycol racked systems as well as conventional DX racked systems
- work effectively with a team, assisting other personnel to ensure timely completion of tasks
- communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and customers to determine best practices and assess downtime
- create and maintain preventative maintenance records on all equipment serviced
- maintain truck inventory
- deliver incredible service to internal and external customers while maintaining Wegmans high standards of quality and safety procedures
