Job Description

The Community Services Flight is a vital part of the organization's non-appropriated fund (NAF) structure, dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for active duty military members, retirees, Department of Defense (DOD) civilians, and their families. This establishment operates with a mission to provide recreational, social, and community-oriented programs and events that foster camaraderie, support, and well-being among its diverse participants. As a part of this community-centric initiative, the Community Services Flight manages various programs aimed at engaging a broad spectrum of individuals through inclusive and professionally administered activities.

This position is specifically aligned with the management of the Community Center, a hub for event planning and recreational services within the Community Services Flight. The role involves assisting the Director in overseeing day-to-day operations to ensure seamless service delivery and program implementation. The successful candidate will be entrusted with the responsibility of planning and administering a diversified array of Event Center programs tailored to meet the unique needs and interests of military personnel and their families. This includes a strategic approach to program development, execution, and continuous evaluation to maintain relevancy and engagement.

The role requires a professional with expertise in event management, financial oversight, and human resource coordination, including the recruitment and supervision of volunteers. Proficiency in key computer software, particularly Microsoft Office applications, internet navigation, and social media platforms, is essential for effective communication and marketing of programs. The position demands exceptional organizational skills, excellent written and oral communication abilities, and a diplomatic approach to handling diverse community interactions. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds, flexibility for reaching, bending, kneeling, and enduring extended periods of standing and walking. Additionally, the role requires a valid driver's license and the ability to successfully complete a Tier I background investigation and employment physical. This is a designated drug testing position subject to random testing.
