Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to effectively address inquiries and resolve complaints from the public, ensuring a positive experience for all users.

In addition to program leadership, the coordinator is tasked with the maintenance of equipment and recreational areas, oversight of safety protocols, and enforcement of rules and regulations. Some roles may require driving a city vehicle to transport participants or coordinate activities at different locations. The coordinator will support department events and field trips and may serve as the acting manager on duty during absence of the Center Supervisor, emphasizing leadership responsibilities.

The position also involves strategic duties such as scheduling activities and facility use by various community groups, creating recruiting strategies to boost program participation, and establishing partnerships with other agencies to maximize community engagement. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, communication abilities, and a service-oriented mindset to effectively promote and manage recreational opportunities. Candidates interested in contributing to community wellness and recreation services in Savannah are encouraged to apply and become part of a dedicated team that values innovation, inclusivity, and community connection.
