Job Requirements
- Associate's degree in Recreation, Physical Education or related field
- 1 year of experience in recreation, sports, childcare, customer service and supervision, and event planning
- An equivalent combination of education (not less than a high school diploma/GED), training, and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies noted above
- Must obtain First Aid and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Certification with Practical Application within 6 months of employment
- May be required to possess and maintain a valid Driver's License
- Completion of State mandated 40-hour Introductory Child Care Training within 12 months from date training begins
- Completion of minimum of 10 hours of Continuing Education Unit (CEU) in-service training during the state fiscal year
- Ability to pass background checks including criminal history and child abuse records
- Possess necessary job-related licenses or certifications which may include Florida Driver License (Class E) or Commercial Driver License (CDL)
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Recreation, Physical Education or related field
- 1 year of experience in recreation, sports, childcare, customer service and supervision, and event planning
- Ability to plan, organize, assign, direct, review and evaluate the work of assigned staff
- Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to work effectively with others
- Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and multi-task
- Skill in the use of various office equipment
Job Duties
- Assist in the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and work standards for assigned facility, programs and activities
- Assist in the supervision, training and evaluation of professionals, nonprofessionals and volunteers
- Assist with planning, developing, implementing, promoting and coordinating a recreational and/or cultural program of activities and services centered on one or multiple community facilities
- Monitor the maintenance of equipment, supplies, and make recommendation for the acquisition of recreational equipment and supplies
- Assist in preparing programs for participants, prepare reports
- serve as a source of information for the public
- Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of programs and make modifications as directed
- Assist and enforce the policies, procedures and regulations of the department to the center and its programs, staff and services
- Process the collection of fees, charges and disbursements
- May assume duties of higher-level supervisor in their absence
- Perform other related duties
