The role of the Recreation Operations Manager at Renaissance Hotels involves supporting the Director of Recreation in managing all aspects related to the pool and beach areas. This includes overseeing the maintenance, cleanliness, and operational functionality of facilities such as cabana units to ensure a welcoming and safe environment for guests. The position is full-time and situated onsite at the resort located at 44400 Indian Wells Ln, Indian Wells, with a competitive pay range of $28.37 to $37.02 per hour plus eligibility for bonuses.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One year experience in recreation or health club operations or related area
- Or two-year degree in health education, physical education, hotel and restaurant management, or related field
- Ability to supervise and lead employees
- Strong customer service orientation
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to work full time onsite
- Eligibility to work in the United States
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 1 year experience in recreation or health club operations or related professional area
- Or 2-year degree from an accredited university in Health Education, Physical Education, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or related major with no work experience required
- Strong supervisory and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of customer service best practices
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Experience in scheduling and event coordination
- Competence in vendor and supply management
- Ability to provide coaching and development to staff
- Familiarity with safety and maintenance protocols in recreational settings
Job Duties
- Supervises employees and supports day-to-day operations
- Understand employee positions well enough to perform duties in employees' absence
- Monitor quality, standards and meet or exceed customer expectations daily
- Demonstrate knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems and processes
- Schedule events, programs and activities as well as work of others
- Provide personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support or other personal care to others such as coworkers, customers or patients
- Participate in the development of specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish work
- Support management of outside vendors including water sports and scuba
- Order and manage necessary supplies ensuring workers have supplies, equipment, tools and uniforms
- Monitor children's program coordinating activities and purchasing equipment and supplies
- Supervise group activities including sand painting, bonfires and team building events
- Monitor pool and beach areas including maintenance, upkeep, cleanliness and operation of cabana units
- Serve as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors
- Provide services above and beyond for customer satisfaction and retention
- Improve service by communicating and assisting individuals to understand guest needs, provide guidance, feedback and individual coaching
- Identify developmental needs of others and coach, mentor or otherwise help others to improve knowledge or skills
- Participate in performance appraisal system process giving feedback when needed
- Coordinate training activities for employees
- Encourage and build mutual trust, respect and cooperation among team members
- Communicate expectations and performance objectives to subordinates, allowing openness for questions or concerns
