As part of a larger resort complex, The Harborside Pool Club operates with a focus on delivering Forbes-level service standards that emphasize excellence in both guest experience and operational efficiency. The organization takes pride in fostering a culture of continuous improvement, safety compliance, and high team morale. It is a vibrant hub of social and recreational activity, well-regarded in the community for its innovative programs and exceptional management practices.
The Recreation Manager role is a critical leadership position at The Harborside Pool Club, reporting directly to the Recreation Director. This role oversees multiple program areas including pool operations, teen and lifeguard management, and recreational programming and camps. The Recreation Manager provides leadership and supervision to three key managers: the Pool Club Manager, the Teen & Lifeguard Manager, and the Program & Camp Manager. The main responsibilities include ensuring the smooth operation of all recreational areas, maintaining high standards of safety, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction, and aligning all activities with the company’s strategic goals.
Beyond operational oversight, the Recreation Manager manages financial performance through budgeting, monitoring labor costs, and reviewing profit and loss statements to ensure responsible spending. This position also involves significant team development through conducting regular meetings, training sessions, and performance evaluations aimed at retaining and growing a capable staff. Coordination and communication between various departments such as Engineering, Food & Beverage, Events, and Marketing is an essential part of the role to deliver a cohesive and seamless guest experience across the resort.
Additionally, the Recreation Manager acts as a key liaison for guest and member interactions, promptly addressing inquiries and resolving issues to maintain a high satisfaction level. Reporting responsibilities include preparing updates and financial reports for the Recreation Director and actively participating in divisional and company-wide meetings.
