The Pool Deck & Beach Guest Service Host/Hostess role at Aulani focuses on maintaining poolside cabanas and providing excellent guest service at several pool locations throughout the resort. As a Guest Service Host/Hostess, you will play a vital role in welcoming cabana guests, ensuring their comfort and safety, and maintaining the cleanliness and functional upkeep of the cabanas. You will act as a positive ambassador of the resort, greeting guests warmly, answering their questions, providing directions, and promoting adherence to safety rules and guidelines around the pool and beach areas. The job requires frequent standing, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, and using hands repetitively, all while maintaining a keen eye for guest needs and safety compliance. This position involves working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions, which includes exposure to extreme temperatures and high humidity.

Successful candidates must be proficient in both English and Japanese languages and possess strong verbal communication skills to engage effectively with guests, team members, and management. Being enthusiastic about interacting with guests, having a proactive approach in anticipating their needs, and holding responsibility and maturity are crucial traits. Additionally, must be able to swim, handle prolonged standing for extended periods, potentially engage in heavy lifting, and be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred qualifications include previous experience within a hotel or resort setting, knowledge about cabana or pool services, and familiarity with Aulani Resort and surrounding areas. Linguistic skills in Hawaiian or Japanese languages are also preferred, alongside prior experience in hospitality or tourism roles within the Hawaiian Islands. Full availability is required, including nights, weekends, and holidays, ensuring coverage during peak times to deliver uninterrupted service excellence. Job Duties

  • Ensure the safety of guests, may be a first responder to emergency situations
  • Welcoming cabana guests and providing a sense of arrival
  • Maintain overall upkeep of all cabanas
  • Assist with clearing pool deck of used towels, lifejackets, and trash
  • Politely ensure adherence to rules and safety guidelines in the recreation locations
  • Greet guests with positive, friendly and helpful attitude
  • Proactively address guest needs by answering questions, giving directions and other information regarding the hotel/resort or surrounding areas
