The city embraces its core SERVE values: Stewardship, Engaged, Respectful, Visionary, and Excellence, which guide every aspect of its operations and community engagement. These values, combined with the A.P.R.O. principles of being Adaptable, Professional, Relationship-Focused, and Outcome-Based, create an inclusive and dynamic workplace culture.
As a Recreation Coordinator at the Oak Point Recreation Center, you will play a vital role in enhancing the community’s recreational opportunities by coordinating a diverse range of classes and activities for all age groups, interests, and abilities. This position emphasizes special events and adult programming, requiring a proactive and customer-focused individual dedicated to the growth and enjoyment of community members. You will be part of a team that values kindness, collaboration, and continuous learning, contributing to an environment where both employees and residents can thrive.
The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Administration or a related field and bring at least one year of practical experience in developing and implementing recreation programs. Additional certifications such as a Texas Class C driver’s license, American Red Cross-issued CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications are essential to ensure safety and compliance in all activities.
Working at the City of Plano means you are part of an organization that supports your professional and personal growth. The city offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision plans, membership in the Texas Municipal Retirement System with city matching contributions, and enrollment in the fully funded Retirement Security Plan.
