This full-time, non-management position is located on-site at the Marriott Marquis Houston and focuses on the recreational guest services within the hotel. As a key member of the team, you will provide detailed information about recreational facilities and activities, ensuring guests have access to a safe and enjoyable experience. Responsibilities also include promoting safety rules and policies to safeguard guests and members, monitoring recreational activities, responding suitably in emergencies, and maintaining equipment cleanliness and readiness. This position requires a proactive approach to identifying and reporting unsafe conditions or incidents to management, supporting team goals, and maintaining high standards of guest service.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • Certification in first aid
  • Relevant local and state certifications
  • Ability to communicate clearly and professionally
  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for prolonged periods
  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 25 pounds independently
  • Ability to assist with lifting objects over 50 pounds
  • Commitment to company safety policies
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and protect company property
  • Ability to work cooperatively with team members

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent General Educational Development (GED)
  • Certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
  • Certification in first aid
  • Relevant local and state certifications as required
  • Ability to maintain professional appearance and demeanor
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Basic computer skills for entering and locating work-related information

Job Duties

  • Animate, recruit, register and schedule guests for recreational activities
  • Promote a cheerful and comfortable environment for guests
  • Provide information about recreational facilities and activities
  • Promote safety rules and regulations to ensure guest and member wellbeing
  • Monitor activities and respond appropriately to emergencies according to local procedures
  • Identify unsafe participation situations and inform supervisor or manager
  • Clean and maintain recreational equipment and supplies
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions to management
  • Complete safety training and certifications
