- prior experience in recreation or customer service preferred
- ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Job Duties
- Monitors a recreation facility and activities during assigned hours
- assist in planning, organizing, promoting and administering diversified recreational and social activities and programs, while maintaining order and discipline
- issues equipment to participants and is responsible for care and return
- maintains involvement in various phases of municipal recreation activities including environmental education, social, athletic, arts, special events and other programs
- prepares reports and maintains simple records
- opens and closes recreational programming facilities according to established schedules
- collects registrations and monies from participants and maintains appropriate records
- checks in registered participants and performs data entry
- assists in supporting staffing initiatives and ensures programs are conducted on time
- monitors participants to ensure adherence to safety policies and procedures
- performs routine custodial and maintenance work for facility cleanliness and equipment care
- responds to inquiries from parents, participants, program staff, and the public
- assists and attends meetings
- assists with organizing departmental programs, schedules and filing systems
- performs routine clerical tasks using standard automated office systems
- performs related duties as directed
