This position within the Outdoor Recreation team offers an exciting opportunity to contribute directly to these valued services at NCBC Gulfport. The role involves performing a broad spectrum of duties that support MWR events and programs, helping to coordinate and deliver recreational activities that enrich the lives of the military community. Responsibilities range from assisting with planning and executing special events to managing customer inquiries and providing resource information. The candidate will also handle equipment rentals, ticketing operations, and the administration of leisure skill classes. Additionally, this role includes basic custodial tasks to ensure facilities and equipment are well-maintained for the comfort and safety of all participants. Strong computer skills, particularly in keyboarding and point-of-sale systems, are essential for effective performance. The successful candidate must exhibit excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and possess the ability to read and understand various procedural documents, regulations, and guidelines. Aptitude in basic arithmetic calculations is also required to manage transactions and service requests accurately. Along with delivering exceptional customer service by identifying and responding to customer needs and resolving routine issues, the position demands flexibility and a collaborative spirit to work effectively within a team-oriented environment. This opportunity is ideal for individuals passionate about outdoor recreation, community engagement, and supporting the well-being of the military population through meaningful leisure activities. The employment type for this position is categorized as other, providing a versatile work arrangement.
