Job Description

Recovery Corps is a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing the opioid epidemic that affects communities across the United States. Powered by the commitment of AmeriCorps members, Recovery Corps partners with public agencies and local organizations to expand access to recovery services and support networks. Since its launch in 2017 through ServeMinnesota and administered by Ampact, Recovery Corps has been at the forefront of helping individuals build healthy, sustainable lives in recovery from substance use disorders. The program emphasizes community-oriented approaches, combining research, engagement, education, and direct support to increase the reach and effectiveness of recovery efforts. Ampact, as the administering organization, upholds a strong commitment to inclusivity and prohibits all forms of discrimination and harassment, ensuring a welcoming environment for all members and participants. Reasonable accommodations are made available upon request to support diverse needs.

The role of Recovery Project Coordinator at Recovery Corps offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in communities grappling with the opioid crisis. This full-time position runs from September 2026 to July 2027, with an option for part-time service at 25 hours per week. Coordinators work directly with non-profit organizations or public agencies to support projects that align with the service site's strategic goals. Responsibilities span community engagement, data collection, volunteer mobilization, workforce development, and health promotion. Coordinators are trained and supported throughout their term, enabling them to lead initiatives such as advancing health campaigns, conducting training sessions on recovery pathways, facilitating research activities, and organizing volunteer efforts.

A typical schedule consists of 40 hours per week during daytime hours, Monday through Friday, with paid time off for recognized holidays. Members receive a competitive stipend of $16.24 per hour served, paid biweekly. In addition to financial compensation, Recovery Corps offers valuable benefits including free individual health insurance with 100% of the monthly premium covered, child care assistance based on family size and income, and a member assistance program to support overall well-being. Education benefits are also substantial, providing up to $7,395 for college tuition or student loan repayment. Members aged 55 and older may transfer this education award to a qualified family member. Additional financial relief options include federal student loan forbearance with interest repayment and accrual toward Public Service Loan Forgiveness.

This role calls for dependable individuals who are proactive in following instructions and committed to personal and professional growth. Coordinators must be proficient with basic computer skills and fluent in English, ready to meet the needs of their service sites with dedication and a collaborative spirit. This position is ideal for those who want to apply their passion for community service in a structured program with extensive training and support, helping to bring recovery resources to more people in need. Recovery Corps welcomes applicants who are 18 years or older and are U.S. citizens, nationals, or lawful permanent residents willing to undergo a background check.
