Job Requirements
- high school diploma or GED
- one year formal secretarial or administrative training or equivalent clerical work experience
- ability to type 45 words per minute
- proficiency in Windows with word processing, spreadsheet, and email applications
- good written and verbal communication skills
- ability to multitask effectively
- ability to work in an office environment using computer and telephone equipment
- ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
- willingness to learn and advance skills as necessary
- pass TSA MVR check (preferred)
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- answer phones, handle routine calls and direct calls to the proper department/program
- take and pass messages as needed
- make telephone calls as requested (e.g., meeting reminders)
- perform clerical support functions including typing, copying, filing, faxing
- collect and distribute incoming mail and dispatch outgoing mail
- maintain office area clear and in order
- manage and order office supplies and maintain work room
- work with staff on special projects
- open and close building as necessary
- adhere to professional standards of practice
- appropriately represent The Salvation Army in the community and be supervised by the Office Manager
- maintain confidentiality
- maintain positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in ways that foster good relationships with clients, co-workers, and supervisors
- resolve conflicts professionally
- treat staff, visitors, and clients courteously
- respect others' property and person
- communicate professionally and appropriately about clients, co-workers, and supervisors
