The role of Receptionist at San Joaquin Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is a critical position within the organization, designed to provide exceptional first impressions to everyone who enters the facility. This weekend-only position offers an hourly pay rate ranging between $18.00 and $18.50. The Receptionist plays an essential role as the initial point of contact for visitors, residents, families, and vendors, ensuring that their experience is both positive and professional. The position is strictly administrative and clerical, with no clinical duties involved, focusing on customer service, effective communication, and organizational support. Duties include greeting visitors warmly, managing telephone calls efficiently, processing mail, maintaining records, and supporting overall administrative functions. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • previous receptionist, administrative, customer service, or office experience preferred
  • ability to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, and interact with visitors throughout the workday
  • frequent use of computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, and other office equipment
  • ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
  • prolonged use of desktop or laptop computer equipment
  • no travel required

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • previous receptionist, administrative, customer service, or office experience preferred
  • excellent customer service and communication skills
  • professional appearance and demeanor
  • ability to multitask in a busy environment
  • strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
  • experience with multi-line telephone systems preferred
  • ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times

Job Duties

  • Provide general administrative and clerical support
  • greet residents, families, visitors, vendors, and guests in a friendly and professional manner
  • answer incoming telephone calls, take messages, and direct calls appropriately
  • check visitors in and direct or escort them to their destination as needed
  • notify staff members of visitor arrivals and appointment cancellations
  • maintain visitor sign-in logs and facility records
  • process incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries
  • schedule appointments and maintain meeting room calendars
  • maintain a clean, organized, and professional reception area
  • assist with filing, copying, scanning, and other clerical tasks
  • maintain confidentiality of resident and facility information
  • ensure compliance with HIPAA and privacy regulations
  • report any suspected unauthorized disclosure of protected health information
  • perform other duties as assigned
