NHC combines compassionate care with cost-effective healthcare services through an interdisciplinary approach. The company fosters an environment of encouragement, innovation, teamwork, honesty, and integrity. At their NHC Parklane location in Columbia, South Carolina, this commitment is demonstrated through their 180-bed post-acute, 24-hour skilled nursing health care center, delivering high-quality care to its community. As a part of this distinguished organization, employees are not only partners in the health of their patients but also active contributors to the well-being of the communities they serve.
The Weekend Receptionist position at NHC Parklane serves as the initial point of contact for the public, making it a vital role in the organization's commitment to excellence. This part-time role requires working weekends from 9am to 6pm, with a competitive pay range of $15 to $16 per hour. The receptionist is responsible for providing courteous, effective, and confidential communication with visitors, patients, and families, reflecting the five-star standard of the center. This includes greeting and assisting visitors, answering telephones in a pleasant and clear voice, screening or transferring calls, and taking messages when appropriate.
In addition to direct interpersonal communication, the receptionist handles administrative tasks such as assembling admission packages, filing various documents, sorting and managing mail under the administrator's direction, and screening partners and visitors in compliance with company policies. Attention to detail and professionalism are crucial, as the receptionist must accurately type at least 45 words per minute and demonstrate proficiency in standard English both in person and over the phone. This role is essential in supporting smooth operations and ensuring visitors feel welcomed and well-informed of the services available.
The position offers more than just a competitive wage; it also includes benefits such as dental, vision, and disability insurance, uniforms, and participation in a 401(k) plan with a generous company match. These benefits emphasize NHC’s commitment to supporting their employees’ well-being alongside their professional growth.
