The role of Receptionist at Life Care is pivotal as the initial point of contact for guests, visitors, and patients both in person and via telephone, shaping the first impression of the facility's commitment to care and professionalism. This position involves extensive clerical support duties designed to maintain smooth and efficient operations of the front desk area. The Receptionist is expected to proficiently handle the facility's phone and paging systems, demonstrating excellent customer service skills, a positive and welcoming attitude, and the ability to make independent decisions when necessary. This role requires familiarity with Microsoft Office applications such as Word and Excel, along with proficiency in email communication. The Receptionist will also play an essential part in emergency procedures, including assisting in patient evacuation efforts, highlighting the importance of vigilance and readiness in this administrative position.
In addition to operational tasks, the Receptionist must consistently demonstrate integrity, professionalism, and a strong understanding of patient rights, safety, and sanitation standards that comply with the guidelines governing the post-acute care sector. Regular attendance, good judgment, the ability to concentrate, and effective communication skills for interdisciplinary teamwork are essential. Physical tasks related to the role include the ability to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, reach, and move intermittently throughout the working hours. Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Completed a secretarial science program or six months clerical experience
- Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel and email
- Ability to make independent decisions
- Knowledge of post acute care facility regulations
- Maintain confidentiality
- Understand and follow company policies
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Successfully completed a secretarial science program from accredited college or university or have a minimum of six months experience in a clerical role
- Proficient in Microsoft Word Excel and email
- Knowledgeable of practices procedures laws regulations and guidelines governing functions in the post acute care facility
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of proprietary and confidential information
- Understanding of company policies including harassment and compliance procedures
- Commitment to integrity professionalism and company Code of Conduct
Job Duties
- Service as the first point of contact for guests and visitors in person as well as via phone in a friendly and professional manner
- Effectively operate the facility phone and paging system
