The role of the Receptionist at Uplift Luna Preparatory is a vital non-instructional position focused on supporting the campus community through exceptional customer service and efficient front desk operations. This position is part of the campus operations team and reports directly to the Operations Director. The Receptionist serves as the initial point of contact for families, staff, scholars, and community visitors, making them the "face" of the campus. They are responsible for monitoring the front desk, handling incoming phone calls, routing messages, and providing accurate information to ensure smooth communication across the school. Beyond customer service, the Receptionist performs important clerical duties that support the overall functioning of campus operations, contributing to a safe, organized, and welcoming environment.
This role requires someone who excels in organization, communication, and multitasking within a dynamic and fast-paced school setting. The Receptionist is expected to stay updated on campus activities, enrollment requirements, and safety practices while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism. By efficiently managing visitor sign-ins, monitoring scholar attendance, and dispersing mail, the Receptionist helps create a secure and orderly campus atmosphere. This position offers a starting pay of $16.75 per hour and requires bilingual proficiency in Spanish to cater effectively to the diverse Uplift Luna Preparatory community. - Minimum two years of administrative and/or clerical experience or two years of direct customer service experience
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft suite

Job Duties
- Drives customer satisfaction for parents, teachers, and academic leaders in line with our world class support mission
- Ensures they are up to date on all campus-based activities
- Ensures they are knowledgeable on scholar enrollment requirements and deadlines
- Ensures they are maintaining and monitoring safety practices
- Ensures scholars are signed in and out accurately
- Ensures confidentiality
- Actively monitors the front desk, answers all incoming phone calls, and provides information
- Receives and routes incoming calls to the appropriate staff member
- Takes accurate messages and directs to the appropriate staff member
- Answers questions from families, staff, and scholars
- Ensures all guests are signed in, verified, and issued a visitor pass
- Sorts and disperses mail
- Maintains a positive image of the campus through interacting with families, staff, scholars, and the community
- Assists the Operations Director in establishing a positive, support focused culture on campus
