The current employment opportunity is for a dynamic and personable Front Desk Receptionist role within Emory University. This position is fundamental in creating a positive first impression for visitors, students, and callers by managing inquiries with professionalism and courtesy. The role requires an individual who is adaptable, able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, and exhibits a team-oriented approach. Responsibilities include greeting visitors, providing information, handling correspondence, managing telephone operations, and assisting with special events. This position operates mainly in-person during standard weekday hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with some remote work options possible at the department's discretion. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Greet visitors and callers and handle their inquiries or refer them to the appropriate employee
  • take and route messages
  • perform routine typing and generate correspondence
  • open and distribute mail
  • prepare and mail outgoing correspondence
  • set up organized files for correspondence ensuring easy retrieval
  • operate standard office equipment
  • enter data into computer database
  • operate multi-line telephone console
  • post and maintain information in public areas
  • check-in students and parents/supporters for information sessions and special events
  • enter visitor data in CRM (Slate) to accurately record visit data
  • assist in the communication center answering phones and emails
  • work flexibly in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
