This position is for a full-time Skilled Nursing Facility Receptionist at Stanford Court Skilled Nursing and Rehab Center. Working hours are from 7:30 AM to 2:00 PM, offering a competitive hourly wage ranging from $18 to $19 per hour, dependent on experience. As a receptionist, the individual plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth operational flow by providing clerical support and maintaining efficient communication channels within the facility.

The receptionist serves as the primary point of contact for visitors, patients, families, and staff, managing telephone systems, handling inquiries, and coordinating information flow. This role demands a professional demeanor, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to effectively multitask in a busy healthcare environment. Responsibilities include answering phones, directing calls appropriately, maintaining detailed files such as resident listings, emergency contacts, department extensions, and more, while adhering to established policies and procedures.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • at least one year experience in clerical position or secretarial science program completion
  • ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the public
  • knowledgeable of administrative practices, procedures, and guidelines
  • ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • type minimum 35 words per minute
  • ability to operate word processor
  • effective use of 10-key calculator
  • working knowledge of computers and data input, output, retrieval
  • successful completion of background check
  • successful completion of pre-employment physical
  • successful completion of drug screening

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • minimum one year experience in a clerical position or completion of a secretarial science program from an accredited school or college
  • ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, and the general public
  • knowledge of administrative practices, procedures, and guidelines
  • ability to follow written and oral instructions
  • typing speed of at least 35 words per minute and ability to operate a word processor
  • effective use of a 10-key calculator
  • working knowledge of computers, input output retrieval data

Job Duties

  • Receive and follow reception schedule instructions from your supervisor and as outlined in established policies and procedures
  • operate paging and telephone system as required
  • answer telephones and determine nature of call and direct caller to appropriate individual or department
  • receive requests from within the facility and locate personnel through paging system
  • receive inquiries and release information in accordance with established policies and procedures
  • maintain a current file and listing of residents by name and room number, emergency phone members of on-call personnel, department extensions, key personnel
  • maintain a current listing of critical residents and or residents who may not receive phone calls due to their condition
