Job Description

Brentwood Hospital is a key part of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), one of the largest and most respected providers of hospital and healthcare services in the United States. As a well-established healthcare institution, Brentwood Hospital provides a range of acute and behavioral health services aimed at improving the mental health and wellbeing of individuals and families in the community. UHS itself is a Fortune 500 company headquartered in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, with a broad network spanning 40 U.S. states, Washington D.C., Puerto Rico, and the United Kingdom. Employing over 101,500 professionals, UHS has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality patient care and supportive work environments where employees are encouraged to grow and make meaningful contributions to health care.

The Receptionist role at Brentwood Hospital is a vital position that facilitates smooth communication and information flow within the organization. The position provides an engaging work environment for a professional dedicated to welcoming and assisting patients, visitors, and staff with a warm, courteous, and efficient approach. The Receptionist acts as the first point of contact, greeting guests promptly and managing both telephone and face-to-face interactions with professionalism and confidentiality. This role demands strong interpersonal and organizational skills to ensure callers and visitors receive accurate information while maintaining compliance with organizational policies.

The role is designed to support a dynamic healthcare team focused on delivering help and hope, contributing to the hospital’s mission of enhancing patients’ mental health outcomes. Beyond greeting and directing visitors, responsibilities include managing incoming mail and courier packages, providing back-up clerical support across various departments, and responding timely and courteously to special assistance requests. Working as the face of the hospital, the Receptionist helps foster a positive atmosphere where patients and their families feel supported from the moment they enter the facility. The position typically requires weekend availability with shifts scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM under the direction of the Communications Manager.

Brentwood Hospital offers a unique healthcare environment where teamwork, respect, and high standards for confidentiality are emphasized. Staff members are supported by UHS’s comprehensive resources and commitment to equality and diversity in the workplace. UHS is an equal opportunity employer that maintains a culture free from discrimination and harassment, ensuring all employees can thrive and contribute regardless of race, color, religion, sex, age, disability, or other protected statuses. Candidates for the Receptionist position should be enthusiastic about working in a healthcare setting, possess related administrative skills or experience, and have a genuine commitment to supporting individuals facing mental health challenges.
