Job Description

Central Florida Behavioral Hospital is a 174-bed, private psychiatric center located in the vibrant and sunny city of Orlando, Florida. As a specialized facility, the hospital is dedicated to providing comprehensive psychiatric care across all age groups, including children, adolescents, and adults. Central Florida Behavioral Hospital offers a broad spectrum of mental health services, such as inpatient treatment, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient programs, and electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) services for adults. The hospital operates with a 24-hour emergency service system, demonstrating its commitment to quality patient care and crisis intervention at all times. Embedded within the Universal Health Services (UHS) network, one of the nation's most respected and expansive healthcare service providers, Central Florida Behavioral Hospital benefits from the resources and reputation of a Fortune 500 company with annual revenues exceeding $15 billion in 2024. UHS spans numerous healthcare segments including acute care hospitals, outpatient centers, behavioral health facilities, and physician networks across the United States and abroad, ensuring a robust support structure for its subsidiary hospitals.

The receptionist role at Central Florida Behavioral Hospital is vital for the seamless operation of the facility's front desk and overall visitor management. This position requires an individual who can create a welcoming and professional atmosphere for all visitors, patients, and staff members entering the hospital. The receptionist is responsible for greeting visitors, managing the hospital switchboard, handling mail and deliveries, and offering essential clerical support. Additionally, the receptionist plays a critical role in safety and security initiatives by facilitating code announcements, overseeing visitor sign-ins and sign-outs, monitoring patient belongings, and identifying and reporting potential escalation issues within the reception area. This ensures the hospital environment remains secure, organized, and conducive to patient and staff well-being.

This is a full-time position that demands a high level of professionalism, excellent communication skills, and the ability to multitask efficiently. The receptionist must have a pleasant voice and excellent telephone etiquette, be proficient in Microsoft Office, and demonstrate tact and discretion when dealing with confidential information. This role also involves ensuring regulatory compliance related to security and patient visitation protocols. Training and orientation are provided to equip new hires with the knowledge and skills required to thrive in this dynamic healthcare setting. Candidates must be prepared to attend full hospital and departmental orientation sessions spread over a week.

With a deep commitment to inclusivity, Central Florida Behavioral Hospital and UHS promote a workplace environment where equal opportunity is afforded to all employees and applicants, regardless of race, color, religion, sex, age, disability status, or any other legally protected characteristic. The company also strongly discourages recruitment scams and maintains strict policies to protect applicants from fraud during the hiring process. Joining Central Florida Behavioral Hospital means becoming part of a leading healthcare provider dedicated to delivering compassionate care, supporting career growth, and offering extensive benefits including competitive compensation, generous paid time off, comprehensive medical, dental, vision and prescription plans, a 401(k) with company match, and opportunities for student loan refinancing and career advancement within UHS's large network.
