The organization emphasizes a culture of connection, collaboration, and continuous improvement, fostering an environment where employees are more than just staff – they are valued team members who contribute to advancing the mission of transforming healthcare and leading positive change. With a comprehensive range of medical services and facilities, including hospitals, outpatient centers, and specialized care units, Hackensack Meridian Health provides a dynamic and supportive workplace that promotes professional growth and excellence in patient care.
The Receptionist role at Hackensack Meridian Health is a crucial frontline position that plays an integral part in shaping the patient and visitor experience. This role requires a friendly and professional demeanor as the Receptionist is the first point of contact for visitors, patients, and callers entering the facility. Beyond greeting and directing visitors, the Receptionist performs essential operational tasks such as managing telephone and paging systems, maintaining office supplies and equipment inventories, and supporting secretarial and clerical duties. This includes letter writing, scheduling appointments, typing, filing, creating flyers, and completing reports. The Receptionist also handles important administrative responsibilities like preparing and maintaining monthly balance records, managing admissions documentation, and updating daily census records.
The position demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality in line with healthcare regulations. Communication skills are paramount, as the Receptionist interacts with a diverse range of people including patients, staff, and vendors. Additionally, the ability to use office technology proficiently, including word processing and mail equipment, is a key component of the job. The role offers a minimum starting rate of $18.69 per hour, reflecting Hackensack Meridian Health’s commitment to fair and equitable compensation aligned with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act.
In return, employees receive not only competitive pay but also a comprehensive benefits package that supports health, financial security, and professional development. Hackensack Meridian Health fosters a supportive work environment where team members are encouraged to succeed and contribute to the wellbeing of the community they serve. This position is ideal for individuals seeking to grow within a reputable healthcare organization committed to excellence and innovation in patient care and employee satisfaction.
