Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of reception experience in a healthcare setting preferred or any equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrates general computer skills including data entry, word processing, email, and record management
  • Effective organizational and time management skills
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain quality and safety standards
  • Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality
  • Ability to work closely and professionally with others

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Provide hospital telecommunication services through telephones, pagers, the paging system, radio, or computer to connect visitors, callers, staff, patients, and patients' families
  • Maintain records related to telecommunications such as long distance phone calls, on-call employees, and pages
  • Integrate the hospital's mission and guiding principles into daily practice
  • Manage incoming calls and direct them to appropriate personnel or departments
  • Greet and assist visitors and patients with inquiries
  • Schedule and coordinate appointments and meetings
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to quality and safety standards
