The McAuley is currently seeking a responsible, attentive, and professional per diem (as needed) Receptionist to manage front desk operations and respond to emergencies within the facility. This role is designed to provide flexible part-time employment with rotating shifts that cover daytime, evening, and nighttime schedules—specifically 7 AM to 3 PM, 3 PM to 11 PM, and 11 PM to 7 AM. The Receptionist will be a critical point of contact for visitors, residents, and staff, ensuring the smooth operation of front desk activities and maintaining a secure, welcoming environment. The job responsibilities encompass a wide range of tasks, including greeting and directing visitors, managing communications and deliveries, coordinating emergency responses, and maintaining administrative records and security systems. This dynamic position requires a proactive individual who can work independently, communicate effectively, and maintain attention to detail while performing essential functions with or without accommodation. Job Requirements

  • Part-time availability
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including days, evenings, and nights
  • Basic receptionist experience preferred
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to operate switchboard and security camera systems
  • Must be proactive and detail oriented
  • Must be able to handle emergency response situations

Job Qualifications

  • Proficiency in English
  • Able to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Preferably three months of receptionist experience
  • Familiarity with switchboard, communication systems, and security cameras
  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively
  • Capable of performing essential job functions with or without accommodation

Job Duties

  • Uphold The McAuley's mission and Mercy Community Health's values
  • Greet and direct visitors and residents, answering questions and providing information
  • Reserve guest apartments and handle follow-ups
  • Distribute memos, newsletters, and resident mail
  • Manage UPS deliveries and registered mail
  • Respond to emergency alarms and coordinate with security and maintenance
  • Maintain and update reception forms and filing systems
  • Operate the switchboard and monitor security cameras
  • Schedule transportation and manage resident trip sign-ups
  • Handle work orders and key control system
