Known for its mission-driven approach, MercyOne integrates clinical excellence with innovative practices to improve health outcomes in the communities it serves. The organization is committed to creating a workplace culture that values diversity, inclusion, and professional growth, thus attracting passionate healthcare professionals who are committed to making a meaningful impact in the lives of others. MercyOne offers competitive compensation and a full benefits package designed to support the well-being and career development of its employees. The Clinic Receptionist role at MercyOne Health System is a vital frontline position responsible for managing patient interactions and the administrative functions essential to maintaining smooth clinic operations. This full-time day shift position involves greeting and welcoming patients and visitors with professionalism and warmth, creating a positive first impression that reflects the organization’s values and mission. The receptionist’s duties encompass managing the front desk, scheduling appointments, validating insurance eligibility, and accurately entering patient information into Electronic Health Records (EHR) and other systems. Equally important is the financial aspect of the position, which requires the receptionist to determine and collect payments at the time of service, including co-pays and past due balances, ensuring compliance with clinic policies and regulatory standards.
Beyond administrative tasks, the receptionist plays a critical role in upholding MercyOne’s mission and values through excellent communication, confidentiality, and the ability to inspire trust and confidence among patients and colleagues. The role requires strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently within a dynamic healthcare setting. MercyOne provides the support and training necessary to achieve success in this role, including mandatory certifications such as Basic Life Support (BLS) and abuse training within three months of hire.
This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking a meaningful career in healthcare administration and patient services, where they can contribute to compassionate, person-centered care every day. Joining MercyOne means becoming part of a team that values collaboration, continuous improvement, and the pursuit of excellence in healthcare delivery.
