Job Description
Singing River Health System is a leading healthcare provider committed to delivering exceptional patient care and improving community health. With a strong emphasis on compassion, professionalism, and innovation, Singing River Health System operates a network of facilities designed to serve a diverse patient population. Known for integrating advanced medical technologies and a patient-centered approach, this health system offers comprehensive services ranging from emergency care to specialized treatment programs. The organization prides itself on fostering a supportive work environment where employees are empowered to collaborate, grow professionally, and contribute significantly to the overall wellbeing of the community it serves.
The Receptionist role at Singing River Neurology is a vital part of the health system’s commitment to providing excellent patient services. This full-time position operates during standard business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5 pm. The Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients and visitors, responsible for ensuring a welcoming and efficient experience. Duties include greeting patients, answering and directing telephone calls, coordinating appointments, and facilitating smooth communication between patients, healthcare providers, and administrative teams. This role requires a professional attitude, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced healthcare setting. The Receptionist plays a key role in supporting the neurology practice’s operations, helping to uphold the high standards of the health system through careful attention to detail, effective communication, and a natural aptitude for customer service.
This position requires the individual to have completed a high school education or equivalent, with preference given to those with prior clerical or secretarial experience in a healthcare environment. Candidates must be able to complete de-escalation training within the first 90 days of employment and demonstrate the ability to handle stressful situations calmly and professionally. The role also demands physical capability for moderate activity during the shift, such as moving about the facility and operating standard office equipment. Mental demands include strong decision-making capabilities, emotional stability, and excellent communication skills both written and verbal. The Receptionist will report directly to the Practice Administrator and does not have supervisory duties.
Working at Singing River Health System means being part of a team that values dedication, integrity, and service excellence. If you are looking to make a meaningful impact in a healthcare setting that truly values your contribution, this opportunity offers a chance to join a dynamic team dedicated to improving health outcomes every day.
