We are currently seeking a Receptionist to join the team at Old Brownlee Community Care Center, a crucial part of our network of care centers dedicated to delivering exceptional care and support to our residents. The Receptionist serves as the first point of contact for residents, visitors, and staff, embodying the friendly and professional image of the facility. This role involves coordinating appointments, assisting with communication between staff and residents, and managing essential clerical tasks to support the smooth operation of the nursing station. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, a compassionate demeanor, and the ability to manage multiple administrative functions efficiently.

The Receptionist will play a pivotal role in ensuring that all residents are prepared for their appointments and that the necessary documentation such as physician's orders, progress sheets, and insurance cards are accurately copied and ready to accompany residents. Strong collaboration with transportation aids and nursing personnel is essential to facilitate timely and coordinated care. Additionally, the Receptionist assists residents and visitors by monitoring the front door, answering facility phone calls when needed, and maintaining the supplies of clerical materials required by the nursing staff. Reporting directly to the Director of Nursing, Charge Nurse, and Administrator, this position offers an opportunity to contribute to a positive care environment and support clinical leadership with administrative excellence.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in a receptionist or clerical role preferred
  • good communication skills
  • ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • basic knowledge of medical terminology is a plus
  • must be reliable and punctual
  • ability to handle confidential information with discretion

Job Duties

  • Check the appointment calendar and ensure residents are ready for appointments
  • coordinate with transportation aid for resident appointments - make copies of resident's current physician's orders, progress sheets, and insurance cards (when appropriate)
  • place and have ready to send with residents
  • monitor front door and assist residents and visitors
  • answer the facility telephone number when necessary
  • keep proper clerical supplies for Nurses' Station
  • perform any other duties assigned by the Director of Nursing, Charge Nurse, or Administrator
