Job Description
Robert Half is a renowned staffing and consulting firm specializing in placing highly qualified professionals in a variety of industries, including nonprofit organizations, administrative roles, and executive support. For this particular opportunity, Robert Half is partnering with a highly respected nonprofit organization, which is committed to creating a positive impact within the community. As a reputable entity, this nonprofit is known for its mission-driven approach, excellent working environment, and fostering professional growth among its employees. The employment type for this role is contract-to-hire, which means candidates will initially join on a contractual basis, with a strong potential for permanent placement depending on performance and organizational fit. The working schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, providing a standard full-time workweek conducive to work-life balance. This posting is ideal for candidates seeking stability and a meaningful career path in nonprofit administration or executive support.
The role of Receptionist at this nonprofit organization extends well beyond traditional front desk functions. It is an exceptional opportunity for individuals who are polished, professional, and eager to contribute to an organization’s mission while enhancing their administrative skills. The receptionist will serve as the first point of contact for visitors, clients, board members, and community partners, representing the organization’s values and creating a welcoming environment. This position requires exceptional communication skills, as it involves answering and directing incoming calls with professionalism and warmth, greeting guests, and ensuring a positive experience for all who enter the premises.
Alongside front desk responsibilities, the receptionist will provide critical administrative support to the Executive Assistant and office leadership. This includes maintaining and updating spreadsheets and organizational records, assisting with document preparation and electronic signatures, and coordinating various office activities. The role involves supporting meetings and special events, such as monthly board meetings attended by influential leaders and stakeholders in the community. This responsibility highlights the receptionist’s vital function in facilitating smooth organizational operations and effective event execution.
Because the receptionist’s role has expanded over the years to include key administrative projects and daily office responsibilities, this position is well-suited for a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced environment, has excellent organizational skills, and is keen to take on increasing responsibility. The nonprofit prioritizes a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a desire for professional growth, making this an excellent career step with long-term development potential. The opportunity to work closely with executive-level staff and engage with board members provides valuable exposure and experience, enhancing the candidate’s professional portfolio and sharpening their administrative capabilities.
Joining this reputable nonprofit means becoming part of a collaborative, mission-focused workplace culture that values each team member’s contribution and promotes continuous learning and advancement. With the potential to transition from contract to permanent employment, this role offers a stable, rewarding career path for an administrative professional passionate about making a difference and growing within a meaningful organizational context.
