The Clinic Receptionist role at MercyOne Health System is a vital frontline position responsible for managing the first point of contact between patients, visitors, and the clinic. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three months of hire
- Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three months of hire
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Effective communication skills with patients, visitors, and colleagues
- Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality
- Personal presence characterized by honesty, integrity, and caring
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certified or obtained within three months of hire

Job Duties
- Know, understand, incorporate, and demonstrate the Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions
- Perform patient check-in at the time of visit and complete all steps necessary to ensure the admitting process is efficient and compliant with clinic and regulatory policies
- Answer phone calls and direct them appropriately
- Schedule appointments according to office guidelines
- Obtain accurate patient and insurance information, collecting copays and deductible amounts
- Copy and scan patient access-related hardcopy materials into the electronic medical record
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information
