With a strong emphasis on creating a home-like environment, Brookdale offers comfort and warmth that extend beyond just housing. The organization takes pride in hosting entertaining events and gatherings for its residents, promoting opportunities to build connections both in groups and through one-on-one interactions. As an industry leader in clinical care, Brookdale ensures high standards of service across its 589 communities as of November 30, 2025, positioning itself as a key player in senior living and healthcare services. This widespread presence offers ample possibilities for career growth and professional development within the sales profession and other roles. The company supports its workforce extensively with robust training programs and an environment that fosters continuous learning and development.
The role of a Receptionist at Brookdale is integral to maintaining the warm, welcoming atmosphere that defines the company. This position is responsible for greeting and assisting all visitors entering the community, answering their questions, and ensuring compliance with visitor protocols such as signing guest sheets. Receptionists play a crucial role in managing communication by answering and directing phone calls to the appropriate residents or staff. In addition to these front-desk duties, Receptionists are tasked with sorting, delivering, and collecting incoming and outgoing mail, fulfilling basic clerical functions as needed, and maintaining accurate visitor logs. Another important responsibility includes responding to resident emergencies by contacting the appropriate internal or external parties, following established community protocols. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills, a calm demeanor, and the ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Brookdale is recognized for its diversity and inclusion, having been named one of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Diversity by Newsweek in both 2024 and 2025. Employees at Brookdale receive more than just a paycheck; they have access to a variety of professional development opportunities and wellness programs designed to support their overall health. The company offers comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with life insurance and retirement plans that vary by employment status. Both part-time and full-time employees can benefit from programs such as an associate assistance program, employee discounts, referral bonuses, early access to earned wages, and optional voluntary benefits including ID theft protection and pet insurance. Full-time employees are also eligible for paid time off, paid holidays, company-provided life insurance, adoption benefits, disability coverage, flexible spending accounts, health savings accounts, tuition reimbursement, and additional voluntary insurance options such as accident and critical illness coverage.
Brookdale is committed to supporting veterans, transitioning active duty military personnel, and military spouses by encouraging them to apply. The organization also assists associates in their path to citizenship by advancing fees for naturalization applications, demonstrating its inclusive and supportive workplace culture. Temporary associates, while not benefits-eligible, can still participate in the company’s 401(k) program. This role offers a salary range based on the applicant's skills and experience, reflecting Brookdale’s commitment to fairly compensating its employees.
Joining Brookdale as a Receptionist means becoming part of a company that values community, diversity, professional growth, and overall well-being, all while contributing to the life-enhancing mission aimed at making lives better for its residents and employees alike.
