Job Description
Telecare is a leading behavioral health services organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals by providing effective and compassionate care. Known for its commitment to cultural diversity, equity, and inclusion, Telecare serves a broad clientele including mental health peers, BIPOC communities, LGBTQIA+, veterans, and individuals from various belief systems. As part of a robust and comprehensive network, Telecare offers programs designed to support individuals in recovering their health, hopes, and dreams through therapeutic and supportive services. La Paz, one of Telecare's specialized facilities, is a 148-bed Gero-Psychiatric center focusing on adults aged 55 and older. It provides an alternative care setting to state hospitals or acute care facilities, emphasizing treatment philosophies that empower individuals to enhance their functioning and quality of life.
The Receptionist position at Telecare plays a vital role in the functioning of the Program by acting as the central communication hub. Working full-time from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday, this role is crucial in managing the main phone console, greeting all callers and visitors, and performing various routine administrative and personnel tasks as assigned. The starting wage for this position is approximately $23.00 per hour, with geographic differentials applied based on the employee's work location, ensuring competitive and fair compensation. The exact pay is commensurate with relevant experience beyond the minimum qualifications.
In this role, the Receptionist helps to create a welcoming and organized environment that supports Telecare's mission by ensuring smooth and efficient communication flow within the program. This position requires a professional and approachable demeanor as the Receptionist often forms the first impression for anyone contacting or visiting Telecare. Administrative duties include managing incoming calls, handling visitor inquiries, and maintaining routine office processes. This position demands proficiency in typing and general office skills, coupled with an ability to uphold a compassionate and patient-centered approach consistent with Telecare's values. Certification in CPR, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI), and First Aid is required upon hire or within the initial 60 days of employment, reinforcing the organization's commitment to safety and emergency preparedness.
Telecare offers a supportive work environment with a suite of employee benefits that promote work-life balance and ongoing professional development. Eligible employees accrue paid time off (PTO), enjoy nine paid holidays, and may qualify for shift differentials based on working hours, such as evenings and weekends. Additionally, Telecare supports staff growth with free continuing education units (CEUs), free supervision for BBS Associate License, coaching, mentorship, and scholarship opportunities for online university tuition, reflecting their investment in employee advancement. Comprehensive health benefits including medical, vision, and dental insurance are available, alongside a 401(k) retirement plan and an employee stock ownership program.
Joining Telecare means becoming part of a compassionate family dedicated to making a positive impact on mental health care and supporting the unique needs of its population. This commitment extends through every level of the organization, fostering an inclusive workplace culture where diversity is respected and valued. Candidates interested in the Receptionist role can expect full job details upon selection for an interview, with adherence to background clearance, physical exams, and other regulatory requirements vital to Telecare's standard of care and operational excellence.
