We are currently seeking a dedicated Receptionist/Medical Assistant to join our Surgical Alliance Surgeons department. This role is a part-time, 24-hours per week position working the day shift (Shift 1). The Receptionist/Medical Assistant serves as a vital communication link among patients, providers, and healthcare team members. The individual in this role is responsible for providing exceptional, compassionate service to patients, physicians, and staff, ensuring a welcoming and supportive healthcare environment. Confidentiality of patient information remains a paramount responsibility and must be rigorously maintained at all times.
Under the guidance of the Primary Care Provider, the Medical Assistant performs clinical duties that support the efficient and timely delivery of patient care. This includes assisting providers during patient visits and ensuring smooth coordination throughout the care process. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong knowledge of medical terminology, and proficiency in interacting with both patients and healthcare personnel. The ideal candidate is service-oriented, detail-driven, and committed to upholding Middlesex Health’s high standards of patient care and confidentiality. Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- experience in patient care as a CNA, EMT or Medical Assistant
- knowledge of medical terminology and medications
- excellent customer service and communication skills
- willingness to obtain BLS certification within six months of hire
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent
- experience in a patient care environment as a CNA, EMT or graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program
- knowledge of medical terminology and medications
- excellent customer service and communication skills
- willingness to obtain BLS certification within six months of hire
- one year of experience in an urgent care setting preferred
- one year of experience working with electronic health records preferred
- active BLS certification preferred
Job Duties
- serve as the central point of communication among patients, providers and other healthcare team members

- perform clinical duties under the direction of the Primary Care Provider
- assist providers to ensure each patient receives timely and effective care
- manage patient interactions professionally and efficiently
- support the office operations and assist with administrative tasks as needed
