Job Description
Merrimack Health is a private, non-profit community hospital that has proudly served the Merrimack Valley and southern New Hampshire regions for over 140 years. This establishment is dedicated to providing patient-centered, compassionate, and quality healthcare to families and individuals in the community. The hospital has built a reputation for excellence through the commitment of its skilled doctors, nurses, and staff who work tirelessly to improve the health and wellbeing of the people they serve. Merrimack Health fosters an environment of inclusivity and diversity, reflecting its dedication to providing equitable healthcare services.
As a Receptionist at Merrimack Health, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the welcoming and efficient front-line service associated with the hospital. You will be responsible for managing the flow of visitors and patients entering or calling the main lobby, providing outstanding customer service in a courteous and professional manner. Your role involves assisting guests in finding patients, directing them to appointments, and ensuring a smooth and positive experience from the moment they arrive. This position is vital for enabling the hospital to run fluidly by addressing visitor inquiries and guiding guests to their destinations accurately and promptly.
The role requires attention to detail, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced healthcare environment. You will answer multi-line phone systems, provide basic non-confidential patient information, and coordinate with other hospital staff such as security and patient assistance liaisons to ensure guest safety and satisfaction. You will also be responsible for providing accommodations such as wheelchairs and interpreter services when necessary. Furthermore, an essential part of your responsibilities is to maintain a professional and pleasant demeanor with all patients, visitors, and colleagues, ensuring that Merrimack Health remains known for its compassionate approach.
This is an hourly wage position with a base salary range from $15.07 to $22.60 per hour, with the final offer determined by education, experience, licensure, and internal equity factors. The hospital emphasizes pay transparency and equity, ensuring fair compensation and opportunities for salary growth over time. Additionally, Merrimack Health offers a comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off, health benefits, and free parking, establishing a supportive and rewarding workplace environment.
Working as a Receptionist at Merrimack Health offers both the satisfaction of contributing to a community-focused healthcare organization and opportunities for career development within a respected institution. The team-oriented culture and commitment to excellence provide an ideal environment for individuals seeking a meaningful role in healthcare administration.
