Job Description

Ascent Classical Academy is a distinguished educational institution committed to providing excellence in classical education. Dedicated to fostering a respectful, courteous, and integrity-driven environment, this academy serves as a nurturing community where students, families, and staff members work collectively to uphold the school's mission and values. Operating as a public charter school based in Colorado, Ascent Classical Academy combines rigorous academics with character education to cultivate well-rounded scholars prepared for civic responsibility and leadership. The school is well-known for its high academic standards and emphasis on a structured, values-oriented learning atmosphere. Its commitment to maintaining a safe, welcoming, and organized learning environment is evident in all operational aspects of the academy, including administrative support and front office management.

The Front Office Receptionist/Attendance Long Term Substitute position at Ascent Classical Academy is a vital role that directly supports the daily operations and overall positive experience of the school community. This position is primarily responsible for managing front office communications, ensuring attendees' safety through regular security checks, and facilitating attendance tracking and reporting. In this role, serving as the first point of contact for parents, visitors, and staff, the Receptionist embodies the academy’s values of courtesy, respect, and professionalism, creating a warm and efficient atmosphere in the front office. Besides front desk responsibilities, this role includes managing the incoming volunteer program and assisting the communications department with email correspondence, enhancing overall organizational efficiency.

The ideal candidate for this role should have proven experience in front office or reception duties, preferably in an educational environment, demonstrating strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills. The position requires someone who exhibits reliability, punctuality, and a professional demeanor while handling multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. The Front Office Receptionist/Attendance Long Term Substitute is expected to collaborate harmoniously with other employees, maintain confidentiality, and uphold the academy’s high moral and ethical standards that align with the principles of ordered liberty and constitutional self-government.

Candidates must also be adaptable in performing a variety of clerical tasks, managing attendance data accurately, and responding to inquiries sensitively and effectively. Participation in required professional development days and in-service training is essential to remain engaged with the academy’s evolving needs and community standards. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 15 pounds, traverse the school building as needed, and supervise outdoor activities when necessary.

This is a contract-based substitute role focused on ensuring consistent front office support and attendance monitoring during a longer-term absence or need. The employment emphasizes an engaging, respectful, and well-managed front office environment critical to the smooth functioning of the academy and the positive daily experience of all its members. The position aligns with Colorado Education laws and includes comprehensive background checks to ensure a safe school environment, reflecting the academy’s unwavering commitment to student safety and community trust.
