Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • prior clerical experience preferred
  • ability to operate standard office equipment
  • proficiency in using personal computers and software applications such as Microsoft Word
  • effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • ability to work cooperatively with students, staff, and the public
  • ability to follow written and oral instructions

Job Qualifications

  • prior successful clerical experience preferred
  • ability to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form
  • ability to operate standard office equipment
  • ability to understand, apply, and use personal computers and software applications (e.g., Word)

Job Duties

  • Providing general assistance to students, parents and school officials
  • serves as receptionist
  • greets visitors and provides direction and assistance
  • interviews visitors and refers to proper authority for disposition
  • maintains lists, files, and card indexes
  • contacts parents for early dismissal approval
  • gives students passes to return to and leave class
  • verifies bus passes
  • monitors hallway traffic
  • perform any other related duties as assigned
