Our beautiful parish is a vibrant faith community committed to serving its members and the broader community through spiritual guidance, compassionate outreach, and meaningful worship experiences. Located in Western Washington, this Catholic parish fosters a welcoming environment where individuals from diverse backgrounds come together to grow in their faith and engage in various ministries and social services. The parish operates with a strong emphasis on collaboration between lay and ordained ministers, ensuring that all administrative and pastoral functions align with the mission of the Church to lead people to know and follow Jesus Christ.
The open position is essential in maintaining the smooth operation of the parish office and facilities. As a key point of contact, the individual in this role will greet and assist visitors and callers warmly, creating an inviting atmosphere that reflects the parish's values of hospitality and service. This role involves managing phone systems and voicemail, overseeing the scheduling and use of parish spaces, maintaining inventories and cleanliness, and providing clerical support such as handling correspondence, organizing meetings, and assisting with sacramental requests. The ability to engage with all parishioners, including those from the Spanish-speaking community, through bilingual skills and cultural sensitivity is highly valued.
This position requires someone deeply committed to the parish's mission, with strong organizational and communication skills, a knack for problem-solving, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively. Experience with office technology, including Microsoft Office applications and virtual meeting platforms like Zoom, is important for efficiently supporting the parish's administrative needs. Event coordination experience also helps ensure the smooth facilitation of parish activities.
The role is best suited for individuals who are service-driven, eager to assist others, and comfortable navigating complex organizational structures. Familiarity with the Catholic Church in the region and experience working in diverse, urban contexts further enhance the candidate's ability to serve effectively. This position plays an integral part in fostering a professional yet inviting atmosphere, one that encourages connection among parishioners and supports the overall mission of the parish.
The salary for this role is determined based on internal equity, market data, and the applicant's qualifications and experience. Eligible employees receive a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, a pension plan, and generous leave policies. This opportunity offers the chance to contribute meaningfully to a faith community while developing professional skills in a dynamic and supportive environment.
