The role of the School Receptionist involves a broad range of responsibilities crucial for maintaining an organized, welcoming, and secure school environment. The receptionist acts as the first point of contact, greeting and assisting students, parents, staff, and visitors with courtesy and professionalism. They manage the reception area by answering and directing telephone calls, overseeing visitor sign-in procedures, and adhering to school security protocols.
In addition to these duties, the receptionist handles the distribution of mail and deliveries, maintains accurate student attendance records, and provides essential administrative support to the school's administrators and staff. This includes preparing correspondence, reports, forms, and other documentation necessary for efficient school operations. Confidentiality is paramount, as the receptionist is responsible for maintaining sensitive student and personnel records in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
The position also requires assisting with student registration and enrollment processes, scheduling appointments and meetings, and operating standard office equipment such as copiers, scanners, and multi-line phone systems. The role demands excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask efficiently in a dynamic school setting.
Specialized training in PowerSchool and Working With Children is required, ensuring that the individual is equipped with the knowledge and skills to manage student data and comply with child safety standards. Job Requirements
