This role is for a full-time position located in Orlando, Florida, at the 601 E Rollins St facility. The shift is during daytime hours, Sunday through Thursday, from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm. The position centers on providing outstanding customer service and patient support within the hospital environment. The successful candidate is responsible for answering phone calls with exceptional telephone etiquette, responding promptly and professionally to requests, and assisting patients, guests, and healthcare teams by providing accurate information and support. Promoting a caring and positive work environment is essential, as is effective teamwork and collaboration with colleagues.

This role requires a keen understanding of patient and guest needs to ensure a consistently high level of satisfaction. The individual must be able to multitask efficiently in a busy, interactive environment while creating a welcoming atmosphere for patients and their families. A key aspect of the position involves using computer skills to assist with information dissemination and managing communication effectively. Knowledge of hospital locations, departments, and contact details is crucial to support smooth operations and the patient experience.

Additionally, the role includes specialty duties to maintain the efficiency of the lobby and entrance areas, enhancing the overall visitor experience. Interaction with children, whether patients or family members, is also part of the responsibilities, requiring a sensitivity and ability to communicate in an age-appropriate and comforting manner within the hospital setting.

Preferred candidates may demonstrate bilingual abilities in English and Spanish or other languages such as Portuguese, Creole, Vietnamese, French, German, Russian, Arabic, or Korean, further enhancing communication with diverse patient populations. A positive attitude, genuine compassion, professionalism, and reliability are highly valued qualities for this role. Basic life support (CPR) certification and prior customer service experience are beneficial but not mandatory.

The pay range for this position is $15.69 to $25.10 per hour, reflecting the commitment to fair and competitive compensation. Job Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent

  • Able to multitask and perform various job responsibilities simultaneously in a highly interactive environment
  • Full time availability Sunday through Thursday from 6:00am - 2:30pm

Job Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Excellent telephone etiquette and ability to read, write, and speak appropriately in English using good diction
  • Basic computer, typing, and fax machine knowledge
  • Ability to recognize, pronounce and find names and telephone/room numbers of patients, personnel, and physicians
  • Ability to multitask and perform various job responsibilities simultaneously in a highly interactive environment
  • Fully bilingual in English and Spanish, or any of the following languages: Portuguese, Creole, Vietnamese, French, German, Russian, Arabic, and Korean (preferred)
  • Positive attitude, warm friendly, approachable, genuinely caring and compassionate, and professional (preferred)
  • Dependable, self-motivated and adaptable to varying work environments (preferred)
  • Customer service management experience (preferred)
  • Prior customer service experience (preferred)
  • Basic Life Support - CPR Certification (preferred)

Job Duties

  • Provide a consistently high level of service and satisfaction to patients and guests
  • Answer phone calls using excellent telephone etiquette and respond to requests courteously, professionally, and efficiently
  • Promote a caring work environment by being courteous, thoughtful, and supportive of co-workers in a strong teamwork environment
  • Use computer skills to assist guests, patients, and the healthcare team with appropriate information
  • Maintain up-to-date and thorough knowledge of hospital(s) and ancillary locations, including associated phone numbers
  • Perform specialty services and duties as requested to ensure the smooth operation of the entrance/lobby and patient experience
  • Interact with children who are either patients or family members in an age-appropriate manner to help them feel at ease in a hospital environment
  • Perform other duties as assigned
