The role available is for a Receptionist at Skyview Middle School, classified under the clerical/Grade II clerical category. This is a full-time position intended to start in the fall of 2026, with a consistent Monday through Friday work schedule aligned with student contact days. Each workday consists of eight hours, providing the receptionist the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the school’s operations during standard business hours within the academic calendar. As a Receptionist at Skyview Middle School, the incumbent serves as a key liaison between the school, its visitors, students, and staff. This role is essential in managing front desk operations, ensuring smooth and secure access to the building, and providing high-quality customer service. The receptionist handles a variety of administrative duties including visitor management, phone system operation, student attendance tracking, and general clerical tasks such as data entry and document preparation. The individual in this role must be highly organized, capable of multitasking effectively, and skilled in employing communication tools and technology to assist in daily operations. Maintaining confidentiality, especially regarding student information and internal communication, is paramount in upholding the school’s standards and compliance with privacy regulations.

Job Duties

  • Monitor and log visitors in to the building, direct them to their destination, and administer visitor badges in accordance with the visitor procedure
  • Answer the building's general phone number and transfer calls as appropriate
  • Answer the building's attendance line, enter attendance information in the student information system, and print automated attendance letters
  • Check in late students and check out students picked up early, update the attendance information in the student information system
  • Monitor security cameras and grant access to the building
  • Accept courier deliveries and contact proper person for pick-up
  • Assist visitors in locating designated meetings using the District email system's calendar
  • Update student address and phone number information on emergency cards and in the student information system
  • Stuff envelopes for mass mailings
  • Count out flyers, menus, and other materials to be sent home with students
  • Other clerical duties as assigned (data entry, labeling, collating, sorting, alphabetizing, etc.)
