The role of Receptionist within the Post Anesthesia department at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center offers an exciting opportunity to be a vital part of this healthcare community. This full-time, daytime position is centered on providing exceptional customer service and administrative support to both patients and staff. Responsibilities include greeting the public and colleagues, managing communications, and ensuring smooth operation of administrative functions within the department. This role requires excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with a diverse population and maintain the integrity of information flow through telephone, mail, and in-person communications. The receptionist will also coordinate and schedule meetings, maintain office supplies, and assist in record-keeping related to budgets and personnel requisitions. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- No prior work experience required
- Ability to read, write and speak fluent English
- Basic knowledge of computers, multi-line telephones, copiers and calculators
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Ability to sit for prolonged periods
- Ability to communicate verbally
- Auditory and visual acuity to perform job functions
- Willingness to follow safety protocols regarding potential exposure to infectious materials
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent

Job Duties
- Greet the public and fellow employees and direct them to appropriate people or places for assistance
- Accept and convey accurate and timely messages, routing telephone calls appropriately
- Distribute mail coming into and originating from the office
- Assist with monitoring and record keeping related to operating and capital budget
- Process travel requests and educational arrangements
- Computerize select information for ease of retrieval
- Maintain office supplies
- Schedule meetings upon request
- Ensure integrity of communication systems with personnel department regarding status changes and personnel action forms
- Maintain and monitor system for recording and tracking personnel requisitions
