EMPACT- Suicide Prevention Center, a division of La Frontera, is a premier non-profit organization dedicated to delivering essential community services related to behavioral health counseling, crisis intervention, and suicide prevention. The Outpatient Services Support Specialist role at EMPACT's Glendale office plays a vital part in maintaining the smooth daily operations of the outpatient behavioral health clinic. This full-time position is scheduled Monday through Thursday from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm and on Friday from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Employees in this role serve as the first point of contact for clients, offering a professional and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate is an outgoing, reliable, detail-oriented individual who brings prior experience working in outpatient behavioral health settings or similar environments such as doctor’s offices. Their responsibilities include handling multi-line phone systems, scheduling appointments, greeting clients, and performing clerical tasks that support the clinic’s workflow. The Outpatient Services Support Specialist must work effectively within a team, demonstrating flexibility and strong interpersonal communication skills. This role requires maintaining professional conduct, respecting client confidentiality per HIPAA regulations, and showing empathy when engaging with clients and colleagues. Overall, this position is crucial in ensuring high-quality service delivery and promoting positive client experiences at EMPACT.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of high school education or GED
  • At least two years of related work experience
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Proficiency in typing and computer applications
  • Knowledge of HIPAA privacy laws and confidentiality standards
  • Must have or be eligible for fingerprint clearance card
  • Valid Arizona driver’s license and liability insurance if driving on agency time
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work independently
  • Ability to maintain professionalism under crisis
  • Staff members providing direct client services must be at least 21 years old
  • Support service staff must be at least 18 years old

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of related experience in outpatient behavioral health or similar settings
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Strong computer proficiency including MS Office Suite
  • Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and privacy laws
  • Ability to multitask and manage projects effectively
