Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prefer one year work experience, preferably in a medical front office setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology desirable
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and other computer applications
  • Working knowledge of medical front office procedures
  • Experience with Cerner scheduling system
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively

Job Qualifications

  • Skill in greeting patients and answering a busy multi-line telephone in a pleasant and helpful manner
  • Skill in operating a computer, photocopy machine, and telephone system

Job Duties

  • Greet and check patients in for clinic appointments
  • Schedule return appointments
  • Collect co-pays, deductibles, and co-insurance
  • Complete authorization process and insurance benefits verification
  • Ensure proper paperwork is completed
  • Route patient chart to appropriate location
  • Serve as liaison between patient and medical support staff
