The role of Receptionist at JARS Cannabis offers a unique opportunity to become the welcoming face of the organization. This position is vital as the first point of contact for all customers entering the dispensary. Candidates will be responsible for verifying legal age requirements, managing customer check-ins in compliance with Michigan state and Cannabis Regulatory Agency (CRA) standards, and creating accurate patient profiles. Job Requirements

  • Must be 21 years of age or older
  • high school diploma or GED required
  • minimum 1 year customer service experience in retail, sales, or hospitality
  • 1 year of previous administrative and/or front desk receptionist experience
  • strong attention to detail, organization, multi-tasking, and follow-up skills
  • excellent customer service and communication skills
  • ability to work cooperatively as a team member
  • exceptional hospitality skills
  • ability to stand for prolonged periods
  • occasional bending, stooping, and stretching
  • ability to operate computer and POS systems
  • capacity to move up to 30 pounds occasionally
  • ability to work varied hours including nights, weekends, holidays, and events

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Verify customers' legal age requirements
  • register new customers in the POS system and scan returning customers
  • check customer purchasing allotments at check-in
  • promote the JARS brand and excite customers about shopping
  • welcome guests with a positive and friendly demeanor
  • assist with curbside and online orders
  • answer calls professionally
  • provide product, store, and promotion information
  • emphasize JARS Loyalty Program and campaigns
  • arrive to shifts on time and dressed appropriately
  • communicate with team on order updates
  • create memorable customer experiences
  • maintain compliance with Michigan and CRA regulations
  • perform opening, mid-day, and closing tasks
  • support store management administratively
  • adhere to all laws and protocols
  • monitor customer queues
  • update online and in-store menus
  • perform other duties as assigned
