The Receptionist role at Alma del Mar is essential as it embodies the first point of contact for families and visitors entering the school. Acting as the friendly and welcoming face of the school, the Receptionist plays a vital role in fostering a warm and inclusive environment. The position works in close collaboration with the Office Manager and Dean of Operations to support daily administrative functions. Core responsibilities include managing visitor and scholar sign-in logs, handling phone communications and messages for staff, coordinating meetings during busy periods such as family conferences and enrollment times, and supporting the setup and breakdown of school events. Adaptability and a proactive approach to addressing day-to-day operational challenges are crucial for success in this role. The Receptionist’s presence and efficiency significantly contribute to the overall positive experience of families and staff at Alma del Mar.
This is an hourly, full-time position with a starting pay range of $20 to $24 per hour based on prior experience, along with eligibility for overtime. Job Duties
- Warmly welcome families into the school
- Manage front desk adult sign in log
- Manage front desk scholar sign in log including tardies and dismissals
- Answer phone calls and take messages for staff
- Manage the staff break room supplies including ordering coffee
- Schedule meetings between families and staff including during high volume times like family conferences and enrollment meetings
- Support set up and break down of school events like family conferences
- Adapt to tackle other day to day challenges as they come up
