Job Description

VETS is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) based in Ashburn, Virginia, with operational offices in Sierra Vista, Arizona, and contract management sites throughout the United States. The Receptionist/Access Control position is located at NAS North Island, California. This role requires the ability to access the NAS North Island facility, with an Active Secret Clearance preferred or the ability to obtain one being mandatory. The role entails being the first point of contact for visitors, greeting them, determining the purpose of their visit, and directing them accordingly. Responsibilities include managing the flow of visitors through access control measures, maintaining visitor logs, and issuing visitor passes to ensure security at the facility. Additionally, this position involves handling incoming and outgoing communications via the private branch exchange (PBX) system, transmitting messages, and keeping detailed records of calls.

Beyond communication duties, the Receptionist/Access Control role includes clerical tasks such as typing, data entry, and document processing. The role requires discretion, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information appropriately. Providing exceptional customer service to callers and visitors by answering inquiries, resolving complaints courteously, and assisting with appointment scheduling is critical to maintaining a professional atmosphere. This multifaceted position demands strong organizational skills, the ability to multitask efficiently, and excellent interpersonal communication.

This is a vital role within VETS and NAS North Island's operational framework, ensuring smooth visitor management, secure facility access, and efficient internal and external communication. Candidates for this position should have between one to four years of experience, hold a high school diploma or equivalent, and demonstrate reliability and professionalism in all duties associated with reception and access control.
